Freight collection is the handover of your prepared goods to the booked carrier at the agreed address. Cargo Euro Hub coordinates this after the quotation is accepted and the invoicing and payment arrangements for the booking have been completed.

Get the location and instructions right

Provide the physical loading address, site contact, opening hours and any gate or warehouse reference. Tell us about lunch breaks, vehicle restrictions and access arrangements before collection is planned.

The collection date in an enquiry is a request until confirmed. A shared freight route normally needs a workable collection window rather than an assumed exact minute of arrival.

Have the shipment ready

  • Pack and secure all handling units before the collection window.
  • Check the final count, dimensions and gross weight against the booking.
  • Attach the correct shipment labels where supplied.
  • Prepare the relevant transport or commercial documents.
  • Make the agreed forklift, dock or other equipment available.

Goods should be at the agreed loading point and accessible to the planned vehicle. A driver should not arrive to find unpacked cargo in another building.

At handover

Identify the shipment using its reference, check the number of units being collected and retain the available collection record. Report a discrepancy immediately: an additional pallet or different loading requirement may need review before carriage.

If the vehicle has not arrived by the end of the agreed window, contact your manager with the reference and confirm whether the site can remain available. Do not assume a new collection date until it is confirmed.

Read collection-site preparation, pallet labels and what to do about a missed collection.
