A remote location can affect cost when it requires additional travel, a ferry connection, a smaller vehicle or a special delivery arrangement. Whether a supplement applies depends on the route and offer. There is no single remote-area charge covering every Cargo Euro Hub shipment.

Describe the location accurately

Provide the full postcode and any access constraints. Explain narrow roads, steep approaches, weight restrictions, gates or limited turning space. Photographs of the approach can help the manager assess an unusual site.

For islands, give the island name as well as the country. Ferry-dependent services may have different planning requirements from mainland transport.

Check the complete delivery arrangement

  • Can the planned vehicle reach the unloading point?
  • Is there suitable equipment and a safe unloading surface?
  • Are receiving staff available during the proposed window?
  • Does the site require a booking or access permit?
  • Is another vehicle or handling stage needed?

Do not assume a driver can complete the final distance with a pallet truck over an unsuitable surface. Agree a workable location and equipment arrangement before dispatch.

Ask what the quotation includes

The manager can explain any location-related element in the offer. If the receiving point changes, request a revised check rather than transferring the original price to the new address.
