Construction materials vary from dense bagged products and metal sections to fragile tiles and finished panels. Describe the actual goods and destination conditions so Cargo Euro Hub can assess the vehicle, handling and acceptance requirements.
Weight and stability come first
Provide verified gross weights for each handling unit. Dense materials can exceed a base or handling device’s suitability without appearing bulky. Package the load so individual items cannot slide, split the outer packaging or damage adjacent freight.
Protect brittle products such as tiles or boards with the support and orientation required by their manufacturer. Keep vulnerable edges and finished surfaces away from direct restraint pressure.
Check the construction site
- Is the access road suitable for the proposed vehicle?
- Is the unloading area firm, level and clear?
- Who provides the forklift, crane or other equipment?
- Is a site induction, permit or delivery slot required?
- Who can receive the goods at the agreed time?
Do not assume a tail lift and pallet truck can unload onto rough ground or move materials through a building site.
Declare the product conditions
Chemicals, adhesives, paints, pressurised products or temperature-sensitive materials may require a separate review. Supply the relevant product and classification information instead of listing the load simply as building supplies.
Confirm where the carriage ends. Lifting to a roof, positioning inside a building or distributing materials around the site requires a separately agreed scope.
