Commercial equipment includes business assets such as workshop tools, catering units, display systems and service equipment. A useful freight enquiry identifies the actual equipment and its preparation requirements. The category name alone is not enough to confirm acceptance.

Make the shipment self-contained

List the main unit, accessories and detachable parts. Secure doors, drawers and moving assemblies according to the manufacturer’s guidance. Protect exposed controls and connections, and package the complete load for the agreed handling environment.

Declare features requiring assessment

Tell the manager about batteries, residual liquids, refrigerants, pressurised systems or other controlled components. Used equipment should be described by its actual condition and purpose. An operational asset, a repair item and waste equipment may be subject to different requirements.

Final checks

Provide the finished dimensions, gross weight, commercial value and photographs. Confirm whether the load must remain upright and whether stacking is permitted. For customs movements, prepare the correct description, value and purpose documents.

Keep the equipment’s identification and packing records available to the consignee so it can be checked promptly on arrival.
