Choose the service before relying on hand handling

Cargo Euro Hub assesses packages against the actual carrier and route. Do not assume a universal parcel weight or size allowance. Provide the finished measurements, weight and goods description so the manager can establish the appropriate option.

Prepare a carton correctly

Choose a box rated for the goods and the intended handling. Immobilise the contents using suitable inserts or cushioning, protect fragile parts and close the package securely. Do not allow loose components to move against each other.

Remove obsolete transport labels and attach the correct current identification. If several cartons form one shipment, retain a clear package count.

When a carton alone may be unsuitable

• The goods are too heavy or awkward for the service’s handling process.
• The package lacks enough strength for its contents.
• Projections or fragile surfaces need a protective frame.
• Mechanical lifting is needed but no suitable access exists.
• The recipient requires a palletised delivery.

Measure after packing

Include all outer protection and any handles or projections. List different packages separately rather than providing only a combined weight.

For an unusual item, supply photographs before booking. The manager can assess whether parcel transport, a palletised unit or a dedicated arrangement is suitable.
