Unpackaged goods require individual assessment before Cargo Euro Hub can confirm a service. A robust-looking product may still be vulnerable to scratches, movement or lifting damage. Standard shared freight should not be assumed suitable for goods without adequate transport protection.
Explain why the item is unpackaged
Some industrial equipment has an engineered transport base and designated lifting points. Other items are simply missing their original packaging. These are different situations and need different handling decisions.
Provide photographs showing all sides, the base and any vulnerable components. Include the dimensions, weight, condition and manufacturer’s transport instructions where available.
Dedicated transport is not a substitute for securing
A route with fewer transfers may reduce certain handling exposures, but the goods still need to be loaded, restrained, carried and unloaded safely. Movement inside a vehicle, pressure from restraints and contact during lifting remain relevant.
Ask the manager to assess the actual arrangement rather than assuming that booking an exclusive vehicle removes packaging requirements.
Points to agree before acceptance
- Safe lifting and securing methods.
- Protection for exposed surfaces and projections.
- Equipment and responsible personnel at both addresses.
- Whether transfers are permitted.
- The applicable service and insurance conditions.
Do not describe incomplete protection as full packing
Goods wrapped only in a thin protective layer may still need a base, outer enclosure or other support. Give an accurate description of the finished transport condition.
Acceptance, if available, must be confirmed for the specific item and route. Read transport packaging, load securing and packaging and claims.
