A loading dock is a fixed facility at the premises. A tail lift is a lifting platform attached to a vehicle. Both can support freight handling, but they operate in different conditions and require the cargo and equipment to be compatible.

Do not select only by cargo weight

A unit can be light enough yet too long, wide or unstable for the lift platform. The load’s centre of gravity and the space needed for the pallet truck and operator must be considered in the handling plan.

Conversely, having a dock does not guarantee compatibility with every vehicle. Vans and trucks may have different floor heights and unloading access.

What to tell Cargo Euro Hub

Describe the facilities at collection and delivery separately. A supplier may load at a dock while the consignee needs ground-level unloading. Give the finished dimensions and gross weight of each unit and identify any unusual lifting requirement.

The manager confirms the suitable equipment with the carrier. There is no single Cargo Euro Hub tail-lift capacity that applies to all vehicles and routes.
