European B2B road freight is the movement of commercial goods by road between business locations. It connects factories, distribution centres, warehouses, shops and suppliers, using shared vehicle capacity or a vehicle reserved for one shipment.
What makes a business shipment different?
The collection and delivery locations often have operational requirements beyond a street address. A warehouse may need a purchase-order reference, a booked unloading slot or a particular vehicle height. A shop may have restricted access and no forklift.
These details should be agreed before transport. A vehicle that can carry the freight may still be unsuitable for the receiving site.

Cross-border does not always mean customs clearance
Ordinary movements of Union goods within the EU generally do not involve import and export declarations at each internal border. Customs procedures can become relevant when goods enter or leave the EU customs territory, travel under a special procedure or involve certain territories. The UK and Switzerland need separate consideration.
