Goods moving from Norway into the EU need the relevant Norwegian export and EU import procedures. This page explains document considerations for general reference. Cargo Euro Hub’s confirmed freight service area does not include Norway.
Identify the commercial and customs parties
Establish who exports the goods, who imports them into the EU and where they will physically be delivered. The business buying the goods, the receiving warehouse and the party paying for transport may be different.
The parties should appoint representatives where required and provide the appropriate identifiers and authorisations for the declarations concerned.
Prepare a consistent document set
Typical information includes the goods invoice or another appropriate value document, packing details, classification, origin, package count and weights. Product-specific requirements must be checked for the EU destination.
If preferential treatment is intended, obtain the evidence required under the relevant arrangement. Sending goods from Norway does not automatically settle their preferential origin.
Explain the purpose of movement
Returns, repairs and temporary use can require a different procedure from a permanent sale. Keep original shipment and product-identification records where they are relevant. Do not create a new sales description merely to simplify the paperwork.
Coordinate the transport route
If goods move under transit to an inland clearance point, the carrier needs the correct references and completion instructions. The receiving delivery slot should allow for the actual customs process.
